Lukla (2860 m) is a small town in the Khumbu region of East part of Nepal. It lies in Solukhumbu district. People going for the Gokyo Trek or Everest Base Camp Trek basically start from Lukla. The first stop from here is most likely will be Phakding. It is the near the Mount Everest and famous for trekkers. The people living here are busy in their farm, goats and sheep. The weather is cold here.
Lukla has an airport which is small as compared to other airports. We can reach there in half-hour from the Kathmandu by airplane. We can also walk from Jiri which takes about seven to eight days trek. The flight to here is an expensive one. We can also see the beautiful views of mountains during fly. It seems to be an amazing experience. Lukla has numerous hotels, lodges for the tourists. We can also find several shops buying our goods. Basically, western food is famous here. Bakeries also exists there. While returning back, we may have our flight delay due to some weather conditions. We can also visit the markets and shops to explore its main markets and villages . We can see the different cultures and traditions. It is also center for Namche Bazar which may takes two days trekking.
Yearly, it attracts number of tourists. Tourism is also one of the major sources of economy among the peoples living there.
